Accessibility statement

Accessibility is part of the build, not a badge.

This statement covers the Upstream Web Designs website.

Current target

WCAG 2.1 AA target

The current implementation targets accessible patterns, but it is not a certification and it does not establish that every barrier has been identified.

The patterns below are reviewed in code, then need continued testing as content and integrations change.

  • Semantic landmarks

A real header, main, and footer, one h1 per page, and a skip link ahead of everything else.

  • Visible keyboard focus

Every control keeps a focus outline. None of them has it removed to tidy up an appearance.

  • Labelled controls

Every field, button, and tool control carries a name a screen reader can announce.

  • Color mode support

Light and dark are both designed, and no editor control can set a color pair, so a passing contrast ratio cannot be edited away.

  • Reduced motion

A reduced-motion preference removes the reveal and the drawn timeline rather than merely shortening them.

Known limits

What this statement does not overstate.

  • The Contrast Checker evaluates one foreground and background pair. It is not a complete page or product accessibility audit.
  • Automated checks and source review cannot replace evaluation by people who use assistive technology.
  • Third-party services connected to this site, including the booking calendar and any form service, are tested for keyboard and screen reader use when they are connected, and re-tested whenever they change.

Include the page address, what you were trying to do, and any assistive technology or browser detail you are comfortable sharing. Email is available when the form path is not usable.
